What's open and closed during the holidays

All municipally-run offices will be closed over the next few days for the holiday break.

Closures will take place from noon on Christmas Eve (December 24) through to Boxing Day (December 26). Offices will also be closed at noon New Year's Eve (December 31) and on New Years Day (January 1).

CK Transit will not be running December 25, December 26, and January 1, 2020.

Garbage and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day because it will not be picked up on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.

Some of the municipal offices closed during the holidays include the Health and Family Services building, the Public Health Unit, and the provincial offences court.

The public library branches will be closed December 24, 25 and 26, and January 31 and 1.

The Chatham-Kent Museum, Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1. The Milner House will be closed December 24 through January 1, and the Ridge House Museum will be closed for the season starting December 24.

Emergency services will be available at all times, as will emergency rooms at sites under the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. However, some services will be unavailable over the holidays for non-urgent matters.

Routine X-rays, electrocardiograms (EKG), and ultrasounds will not be available December 25 and 26, and January 1, 2020. Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will not be available from December 23 to the 27, as well as January 1.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham hospital will close at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve and reopen December 27. The pharmacy will also be closed New Years Day.
