The Greater Essex County District School Board is taking suggestions for a name change at WF Herman Secondary School.
Elementary students from McCallum Public School are joining what will become a new K-12 facility this September, and Scott Scantlebury with the board says that means a change is in order.
"It's not completely certain that the name will not [still] be WF Herman, but it certainly will not be a secondary school," he explains. "It will be some other type of description, whether it be academy or K-12 school."
Scantlebury says Herman has a rich history in the community, but all ideas, comments and suggestions are being welcomed until the school board's next public meeting a couple weeks from now. That's when trustees will be presented with a few different options and asked to make a decision.

Scantlebury adds that construction inside Herman, to transform it into a K-12 school, is going well and everything's on schedule to be done by September.
