Fertilizer Canada wants to get a handle on nutrient stewardship practices on Canadian farms.
The organisation has joined with Farm Management Canada to set up an on-line survey.
It's hoped the survey results will provide measurable data regarding current practices as well as opportunities to enhance Nutrient Stewardship Program reach and impact.
Fertilizer Canada argues farmers need the information, resources and tools to efficiently use fertilizers and other soil nutrients to continue to produce food in an economic, environmental and socially-sustainable manner.
It suggests the National 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program can do that.
There's some incentive to fill out the survey.
One respondent will be chosen at random to win registration to the upcoming Agricultural Excellence Conference later in November in Regina.
And the first 50 Certified Crop Advisors who compete the survey will win access to the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Course.
