Collision in CK sends one to hospital

One person suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Chatham-Kent.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday on Hwy. 40 near Electric Line, south of Wallaceburg.

According to police, one vehicle failed to yield for oncoming traffic as it turned onto the road, causing the collision.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police have since charged the driver who caused the crash, a 25-year-old from the Municipality of Lakeshore, with failing to yield under the Highway Traffic Act.
