The pair were among 23 people arrested in the summer of 2023 as part of Project Fairfield, a multimillion-dollar auto theft investigation undertaken by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Windsor police, and other law enforcement agencies.

The probe resulted in the seizure of 138 stolen vehicles, $170,000 in Canadian and U.S. currency, and over $500,000 worth of illicit drugs.

A 37-year-old man is currently facing 42 charges, including multiple counts of motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. He is also facing counts that include sexual assault, failing to comply with a release order, and uttering threats to cause property damage.

A 27-year-old man is facing 45 charges, also including multiple counts of motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. After being first released on bail, he was further charged in a separate matter with assault with a weapon, assault, and uttering threats.

The 37-year-old turned himself in at Windsor police headquarters on Monday. The 27-year-old was arrested on Tuesday on Wells Street near Brock Street by members of the Bail Compliance and Target Base Units.

Both are now charged with failure to comply with a release order.
