Last year for annual Drum Marathon

Jeff Burrows' 20th Annual Drum Marathon will be his last.

Over the last 20 years, the event has raised over $800,000 for local charities. All of the charities supported essential services for illness, mental health, foodbanks, addiction recovery and others.

Burrows said he decided this would be his final event after being "blindsided" by the loss of a friend.

"For 20 years, Gary Demmans, my dear friend and colleague, worked tirelessly as my ‘master of logistics’ setting up equipment, coordinating bands and prepping facilities to ensure our annual 24-Hour Drum Marathon would make its mark as a popular entertainment venue and fundraising initiative," said Burrows.

The Drum Marathon will take place from Friday May 29-30 at Good Time Charly.

Performing with Burrows are local bands like (Leave Those Kids Alone), British Beat 66, and the Schmoes.

All funds raised this year will support the House of Sophrosyne, Maryvale, Harmony in Action and In Honour of the Ones We Love.
