In honour of Hiram Walker's 210th birthday, Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens helped unveil the newly restored Coach House at Willistead Manor on Saturday.
The ribbon ceremony included free tours of the new exhibition at the Coach House and ended with a fundraising gala.
The new exhibition room includes artefact display cases, wall displays featuring vintage bottles, prints, and artefacts, vinyl wall wraps telling the story of the Walker family, and a vintage office-setup selfie station.
Renovations include restoring the original ceiling in Studio A, restoring terrazzo flooring throughout, installing new lighting, and replacing interior doors. Restoration work on the second floor of the Coach House will create more room for artefacts for Museum Windsor's growing collection.
City council approved $400,000 in restoration work as part of the 2026 budget.
"City council and the City of Windsor remain committed to heritage conservation and preservation at this site, and beyond," said Dilkens. "We are investing responsibly to preserve the manor, while enhancing public access through events and initiatives, ongoing restoration and preservation work, and new acquisitions. I've often said that the City of Windsor would be a shadow of itself without the indelible contributions of Hiram Walker."
The original exhibition and restoration work at the Coach House won the prestigious 2025 Kulisek Prize from the Department of History at the University of Windsor.
July summer tours at Willistead Manor are on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
