Caroline Emond takes over the job in January.
Emond is a lawyer and lobbyist had worked for Dairy Farmers of Canada in a couple of roles from 1998 to 2006.
She then spent 5 years in the private sector and was most recently the Head of the Quebec General Delegation in Brussels, Belgium.
Dairy Farmers of Canada represents the countries farmers living on over 12 thousand 5 hundred dairy farms.
