It seems the Canada Revenue Agency has the farm community in it's sights.
B-D-O Canada's Dennis Kraemer says the C-R-A is asking farmers for information on asset purchases, doing H-S-T audits and even tax audits.
Kraemer says he's never seen the C-R-A focus on farmers to this extent.
"I would say this summer I've seen more audits than I've seen in the last 17 years in practice. And so when you ask them about it they say it's a project they're working on and you don't really get much more than that."
Kraemer says the C-R-A's move to audit agriculture points to the need for farmers to ensure their financial records are as complete and accurate as possible.
Kraemer spoke at B-D-O Canada's annual farm seminar near Walkerton.
