Ontario's Minister of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affairs says he doesn’t want to see the federal government trade away the supply management sector.
Jeff Leal spoke at an event put on by Perth-Wellington MP hopeful and fellow Liberal Stephen McCotter in Stratford Wednesday night.
Leal says Ontario will be relentless in defending supply management. He adds when it's healthy, it helps other sectors like pork and beef and helps strengthen rural communities.
Leal is in Stratford for the Canadian Dairy Expo, which wraps up later today.
