The Vegetable Oil Industry of Canada is a happy group this week.
The organisation says an internal trade panel ruling is a victory for free interprovincial trade.
The group says the ruling strukes down restrictions under Quebec's food legislation prohibitin the manufacture, sale and labelling of canola and soybean based dairy alternative in that province.
The original ruling had been appealed.
An appeal panel recently upheld the original ruling.
Sean McPhee of the Vegetable Oil INdustry of Canada says in an era of expanding international trade, provinces have to get rid of their barriers to each others products and services.
He also cautions the provinces should not impose any new barriers through any proposed legislation.
