Leal Calls For Ongoing Input On Provincial Pollinator Policy

Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal's office issued a statement to Blackburn Agrimedia following the release of the Pollinator Task Force's Ontario Pollinator Health Blueprint.

The statement did not refer to the Blueprint specifically.

However, the minister did make the argument that the government proposals take into consideration the needs of farmers, beekeepers and the general public.

It also says current estimates have 97 per cent of the submissions received during the recent consultations were in favour of what the government is proposing.

Leal says there will be another opportunity for consultations once the propose regulation is made public.

He gave no specific timeline for that other than to say it would be in the coming weeks.

The Agriculture Minister called on all in the agricultural community to continue providing feedback as the government moves forward with pollinator health policies.
