Total Receipts 1972 cattle 528 lambs & goats Summary Tuesday Fed steers and heifers sold on a strong active trade at prices $2 higher. Choice strs and hfrs 193.00-197.00 sales to 200.50. Second cut 189.00-194.00. Cows sold steady. Thursday Veal is trading actively with price increases of $1-2 from last week. Heavy lambs sold on a high demand at higher prices while smaller lams sold steady to higher. Sheep sold on a good active trade at fully steady prices. Goats sold steady. Friday Calves and yearlings sold on a very strong active trade at prices $3-$5 higher.

Steers

Darren Johnston Farms Ltd of Bluevale consigned 33 cattle that averaged 1338 lbs and sold for an average price of 194.91. One black steer weighed 1345 lbs and sold to Clark Brothers Livestock for 200.00.

Albert W Frey of Palmerston consigned 16 cattle that averaged 1698 lbs and sold for an average price of 196.50. Two char steer averaged 1673 lbs and sold to St Helens Meat Packers for 198.50.

Heifers

Connell Farms Inc of Palmerston consigned 13 cattle that averaged 1544 lbs and sold for an average price of 197.79. Four black heifers averaged 1515 lbs and sold to St Helens Meat Packers for 200.50.

George Hinz of Moncton consigned 6 cattle that averaged 1436 lbs and sold for an average price of 191.10. Two char heifers averaged 1413 lbs and sold to St Helens Meat Packers for 197.50

Cows There were 142 cows on offer

Ranch du Coyote of Quebec consigned one grey cow that weighed 1215 lbs and sold for 165.00.

Bulls There were 7 bulls – 130.00-179.00

John Hoogendoorn Jr of Clinton consigned one blonde bull that weighed 1855 lbs and sold for 179.00. Veal There were 240 head of veal on offer

Beef 184.00 – 226.00 sales to 251.00 Good Holsteins 147.00 - 159.00 sales to 217 Med Holsteins 140.00 – 150.00 Heavy Holsteins 135.00 – 145.00

Jim Maw of Forest consigned two calves that averaged 798 lbs and sold for an average price of 213.07. One limo steer weighed 780 lbs and sold for 233.00

Aaron F Martin of Newton consigned ten calves that averaged 897 lbs and sold for an average price of 205.62. Two limo steers averaged 915 lbs and sold for an average price of 226.00.

Lamar Frey of Listowel consigned nine calves that averaged 819 lbs and sold for an average price of 202.28. One limo heifer weighed 835 lbs and sold for 251.00.

Mosie J Shetler of Lucknow consigned four calves that averaged 903 lbs and sold for an average price of 221.25. One limo heifer weighed 865 and sold for 246.00
