American farmers have started planting their corn and spring wheat.
The USDA is reporting 2 per cent of the corn crop has been planted.
That's compared to the five year average of 5 per cent for this time of the year.
17 per cent of the spring wheat crop has been planted, ahead of the five year average of 11 per cent.
The condition of the American winter wheat crop took a step back last week.
The USDA has it rated 42 per cent good to excellent - 2 points lower than a week ago.
However, that 42 per cent is still 8 points better than it was last year at this time.
