Chinese Companies Commit To Buying Ontario Maple Products

One of the first deals to be announced from the provincial Agri-Food Trade Mission to China involves maple syrup.

Two Chinese companies have committed to buying 2 million dollars worth of Ontario maple products over the next two years.

Last year, Ontario's total global exports of maple products had a total value of 1 point 9 million dollars.

Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal says this deal will open new doors for the sector, building up new markets for Ontario maple syrup and maple products.
