Perth Junior Farmers To Host Major Provincial Event

Amanda Brodhagen describes it as a 'farmer-style' olympics.

She's the spokesperson for the Perth County Junior Farmers, hosts of this year's Junior Farmers Association of Ontario Autumn Profile.

The Perth club won the bidding to host this year's event, the first provincial event they've hosted since the club was revived in 2013.

The Autumn Profile is a day-long event featuring competitions showing off some of the skills used on the farm.

That includes events involving bale rolling, fixing machinery and animal nutrition.

But Brodhagen says they've also got some mystery events lined up to add some more fun to this year's Autumn Profile.

It usually involves about 100 competitors from Junior Farmer clubs across the province, but Brodhagen is confident they're going to be able to boost those numbers significantly this year.

She's also encouraging the general public to come out and watch the events, suggesting it's like a fair with lots of things for people to see.

The 2015 Autumn Profile is being held October 24th at the Listowel Ag Society Fairgrounds in Listowel.

Brodhagen says they're putting out the word now to raise interest in the event among potential participants and potential sponsors.
