Winterkill is a significant problem in Ontario winter wheat this spring.
Agricorp is getting damage reports on about 10 per cent of the province's wheat acres.
Spokesman Jim Zavitz says that's about twice the average.
However, he points out it's only about half the damaged acreage reported last year.
Agricorp is blaming this spring's problems on last fall's weather and the conditions growers had to plant the crop into.
Zavitz is encouraging growers with damaged crops to contact the Agricorp Call Centre at 888-247-4999 to get the ball rolling on their production insurance claim.
