Ontario farmers now have a place to go to find out which environmental and water-related legislation affects them.
According to research done for the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario, there are 34 environmental and water-related Acts affecting agriculture.
The CFFO research project also shows the extent of overlapping mandates of many laws and the complexity of interpretation of those laws.
The Federation is hoping the research results will help increase producer knowledge and understanding of compliance issues related to their operations.
