U-S Cattle Inventory Up Slightly, Marketings Down In April

Another month of low cattle marketings in the U-S.

The department says that's the lowest number for April marketings since at least 1996.

There were 10 point 6 million head of cattle and calves on feed for slaughter in the U-S on May first.

That's 1 per cent higher than a year ago.

Placements during April totalled 1 point 55 million.
