Ontario Pork is putting together it's comments on proposed amendments to the federal Health of Animals Regulations.
The amendments deal mainly with requirements for identifying and reporting the movement of a number of species, including pigs.
That includes things like bred gilts and young boars identification requirements, the number of needed pig movements per month so that premises can be linked and exemptions for on-farm slaughter.
Pork producers looking for more information on the proposals or to add their remarks as part of Ontario Pork's comments are asked to contact either Kristian Stephens or Dean Gurney at the board office by June 12th.
The CFIA is accepting comments on the changes until June 26th.
