A new registered charity has been set up to support the sustainable advancement and the legacy of the Canadian beef industry.
The Canadian Cattlemen's Foundation will help finance programs in three key areas - youth, environment and research.
That will include support for the Cattlemen's Young Leaders program, which helps mentor young people interested in the Canadian beef industry.
Foundation Chair Bob Lowe says the country's beef cattle industry will need this kind of on-going financial support to be able to respond to the pressures the industry faces these days.
Bruce County cattleman and former Canadian Cattlemen's Association President Stan Eby is among the members of the new foundation's board.
