A big day for the Ontario dairy industry Thursday.
That's when the new Livestock Research and Innovation Centre Dairy Facility will host an open house for visitors at the Elora site.
Dairy Farmers of Ontario Chair Ralph Dietrich says the facility will benefit farmers, consumers and the Canadian economy for many years into the future.
It's designed to address the research, education and training needs of the dairy sector that will have a lasting benefit for generations to come.
The provincial government put 20 million dollars into the project with another 3 million coming from the federal government.
The Dairy Farmers of Ontario also got support from more than 30 industry donors to help finance the project.
Thursday's open house at the Elora Research Station runs from 11 to 4.
