Cost-Share Funding Available For On-Farm Species At Risk Projects

Applications are now being accepted for the 2015 Species at Risk Farm Incentive Program.

It's a cost-share program for farms and farmers who undertake species at risk projects.

Funding under this program is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are three tiers of funding available.

Improved farm management projects that support species at risk are eligible for up to 50 per cent cost-share to a maximum of 5 thousand dollars.

High impact projects providing direct support to species at risk are eligible for 60 per cent cost-share funding up to a maximum of 10 thousand dollars.

Farmers with high impact projects and who are interested in participating in an advanced engagement and monitoring endeavour are eligible for 80 per cent cost-share up to 20 thousand dollars.

The Species at Risk Farm Incentive Program is open to all agricultural landowners in Ontario.

Details are available on the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association's website.
