A former president of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture is now President and Chair of Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada.
Jack Wilkinson is a Director of The Co-operators.
The Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada is the national association for co-operatives and mutuals in Canada.
Wilkinson suggests the group has a great opportunity leading up to the federal election to lobby for a renewed partnership for co-op development at the national level.
Besides electing Wilkinson as their new President and Chair, delegates to the organisation's recent annual meeting also passed a number of resolutions, including one dealing with young people.
The resolution adds one designated seat on the board for an emerging co-operator aged 18 to 35.
That position will be elected at the 2016 annual general meeting in Winnipeg.
