AALP Class 16 Continues Program's Diversity

The Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program has named it's Class 16 participants.

Those 27 people begin their program in Guelph on September 20th.

Teresa van Raay is an AALP alumnus and chair of the advisory committee.

She describes AALP as one of the longest-running agricultural leadership programs in the world.

Ten of the Class 16 members are primary producers.

Another 9 are actively involved in primary agriculture while also working in the agri-business and agri-food sectors.

They range from 24 to 56 years of age.

Local participants include Meghan Burke of Fergus, Rebecca Miller of Auburn, Emily Morrison of Lucknow and Megan Veldman of St. Marys.

Burke is with Grain Farmers of Ontario, Miller with Monsanto, Morrison with Morrison Berries Country Market and Veldman is a primary producer.
