Agricorp has extended the soybean planting season for Essex County.
Growers in that county now have until July 7th to plant their soybeans, until July 10th to report their final planted acres, to qualify for production insurance.
Essex growers had to notify Agricorp by June 30th to report what they had planted, confirm unseeded acres and verify their intentions to plant until July 7th.
A notice posted on the Agricorp website says the agency is working with farmers on a case-by-case basis and continues to monitor the situation in Essex County closely.
