OMAFRA: Retiring Crop Specialists Will Be Replaced

An OMAFRA spokesperson says providing agricultural information to the industry will continue to be a key function of the ministry.

A number of high-profile OMAFRA specialists have retired over recent months, including Peter Johnson for wheat, Greg Stewart for corn and Brian Hall for canola.

The Ministry's Susin Micallef says OMAFRA is in the process of recruiting staff for all three positions.

She says the ministry will also continue to deliver forage advisory services with the retirement of Joel Bagg at the end of June.

Micallef also points out OMAFRA helps stakeholders access information in other ways, including the Agriculture Information Contact Centre, the ministry's website and it's social media accounts.
