NDP Leader Wants Supply Management Defended 'In Its Entirety'

NDP leader Tom Mulcair talked supply management and produce today at a dairy farm in Perth County.

He says while he's asked the Prime Minister to defend Supply Management in its entirety in the TPP negotiations, the Conservative's track record in these types of negotiations gives cause for concern.

Mulcair argues the government's practice of picking winners and losers in those negotiations can't continue.

He also promised an NDP government would introduce a payment protection program for farmers growing produce.

The lack of such a plan has cost Canadian growers preferred access to the U-S market.
