Summary Tuesday Fed steers and heifers sold on a good trade at easier prices. Choice strs and hfrs 190.00 – 193.00 sales to 199.00. Second cut 186.00 – 190.00. Cows sold steady. Thursday Veal sold on a very strong demand with beef calves steady to last week’s high market. Light weight Holstein calves were up $2-5, with heavy Holsteins up a strong $5. Lambs sold on a good active trade at steady prices while sheep and goats both sold steady. Friday Calves sold fully steady on a strong demand with yearlings selling $2-3 higher over last weeks strong market.
Steers Chris Smith of Brussels consigned 20 steers that averaged 1578 lbs and sold for an average price of 192.96. One limo steer weighed 1580 lbs and sold to Bruno’s Meat Distributors for 199.00.
M-R Farms of Exeter consigned 29 cattle that averaged 1529 lbs and sold for an average price of 191.75. Three steers averaged 1567 lbs and sold to Cargill Meat Solutions for an average price of 193.25
