COFS: Balancing What's Brand New With Favourites

Organisers of Canada's Outdoor Farm Show try to strike a balance each year between what's new and what's come to be expected.

While giving farmers the chance to see the latest technology and methods, the show also wants to provide farmers with the kind of information they've come to expect from the event.

President Doug Wagner says they're target audience is commercial farm families - those families making the bulk of their income from agriculture and farming.

To meet the needs of that audience, Wagner says the show offers what's new and unique as well as a look at what's been updated or tweaked over the past year.

He says being on a permanent site means the show can offer lots of in-field demonstration area as well as the chance for exhibitors to set up more permanent structures.

Wagner points out some of those exhibitors with more permanent structures are also making use of the site at other times of the year beyond the three days of the show itself.

Canada's Outdoor Farm Show runs September 15th to the 17th at Canada's Outdoor Park near Woodstock.

Wagner points out that as with tillage equipment, it's not always just the most recent innovations that are on display.

Wagner says one of this year's new structures is a flagship dealership for Kubota.

Wagner says exhibitors with permanent structures also have the flexibility to use the site beyond just the three-day show in September.
