Clydesdales Take Over Western Fair District

London played host to the World Clydesdale Show this week at the Agriplex in the Western Fair District. Dozens of the horses were on hand in full dress as they engaged in a variety of shows and competitions to the delight of a packed house. The closing show on Saturday evening sold out long before it began and the arena exits were filled with spectators eager for a glimpse of the ring. Steve Gregg was the co-chair of the event and he's been thrilled with both the turnout and the competitions. “The champions, the winners, have been extreme. The best there is, you know, in North America basically. It's been well judged and very well accepted.” The final evening began with a performance by the Budweiser Clydesdales, and ended with closing ceremonies that celebrated the competitors and the animals that brought them all together. “As co-chair I'd like to say it's one of the best and it has been a real real success, we're very very happy.” With four years until the next World Clydesdale Show, organizers will have the daunting task of following up the event that drew enormous crowds and dozens of competitors together for a phenomenal spectacle.
