Pork Council Says TPP Could See Greater Industry Investment

The Canadian Pork Council likes what it's seen so far in the Trans Pacific Partnership deal.

Chair Rick Bergmann says the deal secures Canada's ability to export pork to Japan, one of this country's most important markets.

It also offers improved access to countries such as Vietnam and Malaysia, with significant potential for increased Canadian pork sales.

Bergmann says the growth potential will encourage Canada's 7 thousand pork producers to invest in their facilities and create new job opportunities for Canadians both on and off the farm.
