Cattlemen's Group Expecting Delay In WTO Panel COOL Ruling

The Canadian Cattlemen's Association says the final WTO arbitration panel decision on COOL is going to take a little longer than originally thought.

The CCA had expected the report November 27th.

However, the Association says that date has now been pushed back to allow for translation of the report into multiple languages.

That's apparently a normal step in the WTO process.

The arbitration panel's decision on how much Canada and Mexico can retaliate against the U-S is still expected this fall.

According to the CCA - that decision will be final and not subject to appeal.

Canada has requested authorization for 3 point 1 billion dollars per year in retaliatory tariffs - Mexico 713 million.

The U-S has suggested 91 million dollars.

The Canadian Cattlemen's Association says it's confident Canada's calculations will be 'strongly considered' by the arbitrators.
