U-S growers have wrapped up their soybean harvest and are very close to finishing the corn.
The USDA says 96 per cent of the corn is harvested.
That's 2 points ahead of the five year average for this time of the year.
Winter wheat planting in the U-S is 94 per cent completed, 4 points behind the five year average.
The department says 52 per cent of the winter wheat is rated good to excellent - up a point from last week but 8 points behind where it was a year ago.
