The American corn and soybean harvests are done but the U-S winter wheat planting continues.
The USDA's latest crop progress report has 96 per cent of the winter wheat planting completed, against the 100 per cent five year average for this time of the year.
90 per cent of that crop has emerged so far, right on the five year average.
The department has the winter wheat crop condition at 53 per cent good to excellent - 1 point better than last year and 5 points behind where it was a year ago.
