Grey Bruce Farmers Week has a reputation for top-notch speakers.
Organiser Lorie Smith says January's event features not only presenters from across North America, but also the event's first-ever 'off-the-continent' speaker from New Zealand.
According to Smith, Beef Day's keynote speaker Leighton Kolk from Alberta will cover animal welfare, current economics and some of the politics in the beef industry.
Some of the speakers do double-duty - making presentations on two days.
Doctor Gosia Zobel of New Zealand is one of those - presenting on both Dairy Day and Goat Day.
Another doing double-duty is Odette Menard of the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture and Food, speaking on both Eco Day and Crops Day.
"She's (Menard) going to be speaking about soil. 2015 was the Year of the Soil, so we're a little bit late, but her information will be very enlightening. She's going to be speaking about fighting for soil health." says Smith.
The 50th anniversary Grey Bruce Farmers Week runs January 6th to the 12th at the Elmwood Community Centre.
