CAFA Guelph Event To Focus On Farm Women

A conference coming up later next month in Guelph is focussing on farm women.

Organised by the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors, it will offer tools and resources to help make farm management easier.

CAFA's Liz Robertson points out many women are the farm managers these days.

She suggests bringing them together with farm advisors at an event like this is a chance for both sides to broaden their interests.

One of the many elements of the one-day conference is an elaboration on what's called the 3 circle model.

Developed by a Harvard Business School professor, the model can be applied to most family businesses.

The three circles are family, management and ownership.

Robertson says the CAFA conference will explain each of those circles and then tie them all together.

Focus On Farm Women - Bringing It All Together is coming up February 25th at the Springfield Golf & Country Club in Guelph.

Details are on the CAFA website.

Liz Robertson says the Association is hoping the February event will bring it all together for members and non-members alike.
