What used to be known as the Ontario Livestock Alliance has a new name and a new member.
It's now simply the Livestock Alliance. The new member is the Canadian Meat Goat Association.
The Alliance was created in 2010 between Veal Farmers of Ontario and Ontario Goat. It has since added administrative functions for the Canadian Veal Association and the Centre of Excellence for Goat Research and Innovation.
Each member organisations in the Alliance maintains it's separate and independent governance structure, decision-making and finances. What they share is office infrastructure and staff out of it's Guelph offices.
Canadian Meat Goat Association President Stuart Chutter says joining the Alliance gives his organisation the chance to deliver greater value to it's members across Canada.
