Some new resources are available for Canadian food and beverage manufacturers looking for sustainability solutions.
They come from an organisation called Provision Coalition.
CEO Cher Mereweather says the resources include tools to help with manufacturer food waste . Mereweather says the resources can have economic, environmental and even social benefits. While the operational improvements the coalition is suggesting require an initial investment, Mereweather argues they have a clear payback to the company in a number of ways.
OMAFRA is supporting the work of the Provision Coalition.
Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal says sustainability and growth go hand in hand.
He suggests promoting this thinking will create new opportunities for food and beverage manufacturers in Ontario and across Canada.
Provision Coalition describes itself as a non-profit, national organisation committed to food and beverage manufacturer and input supplier sustainability.
