Ed Franken and family from Teeswater and Elo Bowman from Listowel are among this year's winners of Ontario Goat Advocate Awards.
The awards honour provincial goat farmers who continue to demonstrate a passion for the industry through their involvement in education, mentoring and innovative management approach.
Winners are also recognized for going above and beyond to positively represent the provincial goat industry.
Ed Franken and his family operate Frankhaven Farms in Teeswater.
They milk 800 dairy goats, provide goats for various milk demonstrations and events and are among the premier exhibitors at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
Elo Bowman and his family currently milk 325 goats, have hosted workshops and meetings at their farm, organised goat sales and mentored new entrants to the industry.
There was a third winner of this year's Ontario Goat Advocate Awards - Tiffany Drong of Troy.
She's built what Ontario Goat describes as a thriving retail meat business and is a director with the Canadian Meat Goat Association.
