Ontario Pork has released it's Social Responsibility Report.
Chair Amy Cronin says it's the first livestock group in the province to commit to setting benchmarks to monitor the improvements of the sector over time.
Ontario Pork says the report is a response to the growing expectations of consumers, retailers and policy makers in areas that measure economic, environmental, social and governance performance.
The approach is based on six dimensions, including Farm Management, Economic Performance and Environmental Stewardship.
It sets commitments in each of those dimensions - most of which Ontario Pork aims to achieve by 2018.
The Social Responsibility Report was released at this week's Ontario Pork Annual General Meeting in Guelph.
