The Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame has found a new home at the AgriCentre in Guelph.
It had been in the Country Heritage Park in Milton since the hall's inception 36 years ago.
Hall President Barry Fraser says changing future business plans for the Park prompted the move.
The new Stone Road West location will feature the portraits and citations of the current year's inductees and of about 20 past inductees.
"We're going to be on the second floor ... part of the hallway that leads towards the Ontario Farm & Food Care office and also just opposite the Hall of Fame is the headquarters for the Ontario Federation of Agriculture."
Fraser says they're also adding an electronic kiosk so visitors will be able to access the portraits and citations of all of the over 200 inductees in the hall.
Those actual portraits and citations are being stored in the archives at the University of Guelph.
He points out the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame also has an active website which allows visitors to check out the inductees through the internet.
According to Fraser, the AgriCentre location will actually provide more public access than the Milton location, being open to the public during regular business hours.
And while the Hall itself is moving to Guelph, the induction ceremonies will still be held at the Country Heritage Park's Gambrel Barn.
Fraser says they need the kind of facility the barn provides to handle the 3 to 4 hundred people who attend the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame induction ceremonies every June.
