American farmers are picking up the pace with their corn planting.
The USDA says they've got 13 per cent of that crop planted so far - 5 points ahead of the five year average for this time of the year.
A week ago they only had 4 per cent of the corn planted.
U-S spring wheat planting is 27 per cent completed - 8 points better than the five year average.
Meanwhile, the USDA reports 57 per cent of the American winter wheat crop is now rated good to excellent.
That's up 1 point from a week ago - 15 points better than at this time last year.
