BASF is lending support to the National Progressive Ag Safety Days program.
Those days will be held in more than 95 communities across Canada this year, involving about 26 thousand children.
BASF will be sponsoring and providing on-ground support for the events.
The Canadian Agriculture Safety Association says farmers are five times more likely to be killed through occupation-related accidents than any other industry.
CASA figures suggest 14 per cent of farm fatalities are children.
The safety days are geared for children, but BASF spokesperson Melissa Parkinson says they hope the events will prompt kitchen-table discussions that will improve safety on the farm for everyone.
