A Lambton County biotechnology plant that's using corn stover as a feedstock has secured a 10 million dollar loan from the Business Development Bank of Canada.
Company spokesman Mario Saucier says the loan will increase the working capital of BioAmber's Sarnia operation.
Saucier suggests the loan speaks to the strong business case for the Sarnia plant, which makes a specialized acid from the corn feedstock.
The Sarnia plant is a joint venture involving BioAmber Incorporated and Mitsui and Company.
