That's one of the details in the latest Overview of the Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food System, an annual report from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
According to the report, the agriculture and agri-food system provided one in 8 jobs in Canada - over 2 point 3 million jobs.
Export sales in 2014 hit $51 point 5 billion dollars - up 12 per cent from 2013.
And agriculture was responsible for about 10 per cent of national greenhouse gas emissions in 2013.
The Overview of the Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food System is an annual report published by the government providing historical data on the state of the sector.
