Dairy Farmers of Ontario reports it has successfully implemented its new Dairy Ingredients Program.
The change has had an impact on the bottom line of the province's dairy producers.
DFO says the producer blend price for April was $72.49 per hectolitre.
That's over 4 dollars lower than the March blend price.
However, DFO says only about half that can be blamed on the new Dairy Ingredients Program.
The other $2.17 was the result of what DFO calls normal fluctuations in the blend price.
The Dairy Ingredients Program added another, lower class of milk for provincial processors to compete against imported products.
