Global food prices were up just over 2 per cent in May from April.
That's according to the Food and Agriculture Organisation's Food Price Index.
Despite that increase, the overall index was still 7 per cent lower than it was a year ago.
The FAO's Vegetable Oil Price Index was the only sub-index to drop from April to May - down 1 point 8 per cent.
The Cereal, Dairy, Meat and Sugar price indexes were all up.
Sugar was up 11 point 7 per cent, meat 2 per cent, cereal 1 point 6 per cent and dairy up 0 point 4 per cent from April.
