Market Access Part Of Ag Minister's Chinese Discussions

Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay discussed market access issues with Chinese officials last week.

It was part of his trip to China - a trip which included the G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting.

The market access issues included discussions about canola, beef and pork.

The G20 ministers meeting wrapped up with a declaration focusing on ways the group can promote food security, nutrition, sustainable agricultural growth and rural development.

According to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, China is this country's second largest trading partner, after the U-S.

2015 agri-food and seafood exports to China were worth 6 point 3 billion dollars.
