The grand opening of a new facility at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre included a funding announcement from FedDev Ontario.
The 5 point 76 million dollar investment will help fit up the new Collaborative Greenhouse Technology Centre.
Total cost of the project is over 13 million dollars.
The new facility will bring together research institutions, business and academia to research, develop and commercialize new technology solutions in the robotics, automation and greenhouse industries.
Vineland CEO Jim Brandle says the new Collaborative Greenhouse Technology Centre is uniquely positioned to drive growth in both the greenhouse horticulture and advanced engineering sectors.
